Textile Exhibition Opportunity 2013

The Craft Council of Ireland is organising an Exhibition of textiles in conjunction with its member organisations (Guilds, Associations, Networks & Societies).

Application forms have been available since March 2013, with the closing date for submissions of work being 29 August 2013.

The theme is Pattern. I quote from their website:
"Brief

Pattern appears everywhere in our world from Natural to Industrial forms. Natural patterns include spirals, meanders, tiling, cracks, and those created by symmetries of rotation and reflection. Natural, woven, texture, repeated units, modular structures, geometric, anti pattern, radical manipulated form.

Work in this exhibition is to be made in response to Pattern. It can take the form of literal or abstract interpretation, function and non-function, wearable and non-wearable.

Pieces must be contemporary in design and can be in any textile media and technique."

Accepted pieces will be shown at the Knitting & Stitching Show in Dublin in November 2013. Further information is available at the Craft Council of Ireland Website.

The thought of natural spirals....hummmm!
