QGI Weekend Retreat 2016

Conference information was mailed in December 2015 to paid up members. If you haven't received your copy please contact us at ASAP and we can send you on another copy. Which workshop(s) are you planning on doing? Details of each day's workshops can be downloaded at the links below.  Application forms with prices for different packages can be downloaded here.
When: 11 to 13 March 2016
Where: Clayton's Airport Hotel, Stockhole Lane, Dublin (formerly Bewley's Airport Hotel)
Who: We have three renowned teachers: Philippa Naylor, Joosje Drapers and Mary McIntosh. Teacher profiles are here.

As usual we have endeavoured to offer a diverse set of classes to keep our traditional and contemporary quilters happy. We are offering classes to perfect your techniques with workshops from Internationally renowned teacher Philippa Naylor on how to finish your quilts with style and
how to get the best from your machine applique. Philippa will also do a beautiful project class on curved piecing.

If you enjoy doing handwork Joosje is doing a fabulous sashiko block where you learn to draw it out yourself and then you are taught how to get the perfect stitch! If you like the idea of making a project in a day Joosje is also doing a really beautiful miniature quilt on the Friday and doing a mystery jelly quilt on the Sunday.

For our contemporary quilters or for those who would like to try something completely new we have two very different workshops with Mary McIntosh. You will be creating a piece that is full of texture using lots of different types of fabrics, dyes and soldering irons! Sounds like fun!

As usual we are asking you to please bring along finished projects from our last QGI retreat. We love to see the finished results and it is always good to have a deadline to work towards. We are going to offer prizes to the top three. Every participant at the weekend will get to cast a vote and
prizes will be awarded on the Saturday night.
We will also have our very popular Housekeepers Choice competition. This involves bringing a quilt that you love and leave it on your bed on the Saturday morning and the house keeping staff will choose their favourite three.
